Discover the diversity of lettuce high-tech cultivation


What we will explore:

From Amsterdam, we will take you to the heart of the Westland, the large glasshouse district of The Netherlands. We will start our tour at one of the most innovative substrate suppliers, BVB Substrates, at De Lier. You will learn more about trends & drivers within the global high-tech market, get a deep understanding on different lettuce growing systems and discover how Indoor Farming works. After a short ride, we will look behind the scenes of hydroponic lettuce at BASF's experimental greenhouse in ‘s-Gravenzande. You will be close to the latest trials and demonstrations for existing and new hydroponic lettuce varieties of Nunhems, in the middle of the daily breeding activities. This is unique in the world!

10:00 - Arrival at BVB Substrates (lunch included)
13:00 - Visit to BASF Experimental Greenhouse for high-tech lettuce

    Exploring trends and challenges at the global cucumber & tomato high tech world from automation to climate change


    What we will explore:

    From Amsterdam, we will take you to Tomato World at Honselersdijk, where you will explore more about the trends of the global high-tech world and learn more about the challenges of climate change, food waste and urbanization. You will discover new solutions concerning technologies, cultivation methods or food education. Together we will enjoy a delicious lunch and Richard Vialle from Crux Agribotics will fascinate us with the latest developments in automation and robotization for cucumber cultivation.
